Camping

Well we had a fun time camping for our Spring Break. The plan was to stay 3 days and 2 nights, but it didn't quite work out that way. We got there Wed. and a little while after we got there we were able to go out on one of the pontoon boats to go fishing. The girls were so excited. They picked out their own poles and amazingly neither of them picked Dora. Wow, I was shocked! Instead Taylor got a Barbie pole and Cameron got a princess pole. They had practiced casting the whole day before and had each twisted their line up a couple of times. So they had started to get the hang of casting. I was excited to take them fishing until I remembered that they have to actually cast with a hook on the line. Wach time they reached back to cast I was ducking for cover. Ohhh... and while we were getting ready to get onto the boat Cameron tripped over a rope on the dock. She busted her lip and was bleeding all over the place. No fear I have a pad in my purse. It was sad because she was crying a lot a I was holding a pad up to her face. Kinda funny!! So the whole time we were on the boat she was a little sad b/c it was still hurting. She busted it pretty bad. She kind of looked a little like Angelina Jolie! We didn't catch any fish and I remembered that fishing is kind of boring.

Our neighbors let us borrow their pop up trailer and the girls loved it. We went to a lake that our friends Lauren, Brian, & Brayden moved to a while back ago. Brian works at the boy scout camp there on the lake. So we weren't at an actual campground. We didn't have bathrooms, water and only one normal outlet. The girls loved it!! They liked their bed in the pop-up. When we went back to the pop-up to get ready for the night we were driving the dirt path back to where the pop-up was and we came up on a TX longhorn getting a drink of water in the middle of the path in a mud puddle. It was quite funny, Lauren said his name is Big Tex and that he's friendly. We plugged in some lights insidethe trailer so we would be able to see that night after dinner. We ate dinner at our friends house and even got to play on their Wii a little bit. The girls love to play on Wii's. Weee would love to have a Wiii, they're so fun.

On Day 2 the girls and I went canoeing with Lauren and Brayden. It was so fun!!! We rowed out in a cove over to a rocky beach. The kiddos loved throwing the rocks and looking for shells. Lauren rowed all over the place and I reminded her that my little muscles couldn't do all that rowing. We got to see & hear all kinds of animals. We are so thankful that we were able to go on a camping trip for Spring break.

The boy scout camp allows someone to use their land for some free range cows, which explains big Tex. Here's another cow friend that we saw after canoeing.

In case your wondering why we didn't stay both nights it's because Peyton wasn't feeling great and didn't sleep at all the first night. She cried and I was up with her most of the night. We were both sleepy and needed a good nights sleep the next night.

Super late ~Halloween Pics!!!

This is mostly for the grandparents because I do realize how unbelievably late it is in being posted. I waited forever to get this film developed because you know it's the old timey 35mm film. So here are my cuties on Halloween being princesses. I fully planned on doing their hair up and making them into adorable princesses, but instead I woke up extremely sick. Since I stayed in bed all day I didn't get to enjoy Halloween like I usually do.

Besides that the big girls were a little sick this week. Taylor had yet another asthma attack. She's doing better now and we didn't end up at the ER. Yea!! We've been super busy with church. Peyton is almost 11 months old. This past week she has started to show more interest in walking. She'll pull up on a push toy and walk it around. She's also decided this week to start showing a little bit of her attitude. She's throwing some fits and gets extremely frustrated if you don't immediately give her more food when she grunts. I've tried to teach her sign language and she seems to get even angrier. If I sign more to her she gets so mad at me, like she's just saying stop all the procrastinating and give me more food.

So remember to keep voting for my girlies on Nick Jr.

Superfan Contest

Voting has finally started for the superfan contest on Nick Jr. I entered the girls for this contest in October. Of course as most of you know they are crazy Dora fans. They love her very much. Well the picked them as winners of the Dora contest and now the voting has started for one overall winner of all the characters. I am very competitive and would love to have the prize of having a Dora themed birthday. I also just thought it would be fun for all of y'all to see my girlies on Nick Jr.'s website. So we would love it if you go here and vote for them. Here's the picture to look for.

9 months old

It is unbelievably hard for me to accept that Peyton is 9 months old. She has 5 teeth and is cruising around on the furniture. The good news is that so far she isn't to extremely interested in the idea of walking. Yea!! A few more months of crawling is OK with me. She does really well with her schedule when we stay home, but 3 days out of the week we're not home and she doesn't do as well on those days. On a typical day she wakes up around 8, then she takes her first nap from around 10-12. Then lunch and playing and another nap around 2:30-4:30. If she does well with that then she's up until bedtime at 8. On a day that she hasn't taken good naps she still needs an early evening nap. She's still pretty happy and loves to crawl and explore. She loves to open the bathroom cabinet & take everything out. I guess we're going to have to invest in some baby locks, because I'm sick of cleaning it up everyday. She's a pretty funny girl. Here are a couple of pics of her and her vampire pic is on here too.

Dancing!!

Dancing & dressing up is the norm in our house these days. Our girls do not go one day without putting on some piece of dress up clothing. They love it!! I'm so worried about having 3 teenage girls at the same time. Our house is going to be crazy. Here's a shot of both of them spinning. Unfortunately I could not get a great one of Taylor, but I love this shot of Cameron. She even looks like she has spirit fingers. I got a great pic of Peyton with her vampire fangs tonight, so I'll have to put it on the computer tomorrow and hopefully post it soon. One of her front two teeth has decided to come in, so she isn't going to have the vampire look for much longer. I hope that means the biting will stop. She thinks biting me is hilarious. I don't! She's so darn cute though. I tell her no and she just looks up at me with this grin and laughs. Little Stinker!!!

First tooth

As I am trying to catch up in the blogging world I thought I would post a sweet picture of Peyton's 1st tooth. It started breaking through before Christmas, but took a while to be photographed because it was so tiny. Last Tuesday she decided she would have 3 more break through all on one day and handled it with basically no crying. The funny thing is the top teeth that decided to break through are her fang teeth (incisors maybe). So now I call her my little vampire. When they get a little bigger I'll try to get a picture before any others can break through. So if you're counting she now has 4 teeth. The fangs on top and the 2 front teeth on the bottom.

Christmas

Santa visited the girls one day early so we could drive to TN on Christmas day. Santa brought them a dollhouse and some of the things to go inside the dollhouse.

Peyton enjoyed this cookie a lot at Mimi & Papa's house in her Santa baby dress.

We stayed with Dustin's sister Kerry and her hubby Kane. Here are all of our beautiful girls.
Emma, Cameron, Taylor, Sophia, Macy, & Peyton

We want to thank all of our family for each of the gifts they received. The clothes are wonderful and adorable. The toys are great. The girls even like playing with Peyton's new toys. I have to say that I think they love their new Leapsters most. They're getting so smart.

December Water Park Fun

2 days before Christmas we had the wonderful opportunity to go to Great Wolf Lodge to play at the waterpark for a few hours. We had a lot of fun. It is a hotel/resort with an indoor waterpark. The water was a bit cold for us, but we didn't keep us from missing out on fun. Here are a few pictures of our fun day.

Bicycles

For the girls birthday we bought them their first real bicycles. We had the bikes set up close to where they were opening their presents, but they never really noticed them. Then they opened their helmets & I asked them what they needed helmets for and they said bikes. Then I showed them the bikes. I don't think they quite got it at first, but after a few minutes they were so excited. The cool thing was there was a perfect place for them to ride all around.

Tati held Peyton while I was watching the girls ride their bikes.

I've posted several posts tonight so keep scrolling down to see more.

Cowgirl birthday!!

For the girls birthday party this year I decided I wanted to have something more than just a birthday at home. For their 1st birthday we had it at Dustin's mom's house while we were living there. For their 2nd birthday we had it at my mom's house on Thanksgiving day. For their 3rd birthday we had it at our house. We had some fun kids gym equipment to add a little more to the party. Well like I said I was determined to do something different this year. So I started researching places to have a party. Well it's really expensive to have a birthday party. I'm ready for them to be old enough to have a sleepover birthday. Finally I found the science museum and remembered that the last Friday of the month is Family free Friday. Their birthday is at the end of the month so I started thinking we could piggy back off of the free day. Well a couple of weeks later I realized that the science museum is being renovated and it is combined with the cowgirl museum right next door. So one Saturday I went into Fort Worth to visit the cowgirl museum and see if there would be enough for the kids to do. While there I decided we would do a themed cowgirl birthday party. The girls were so excited as we started planning. I got them pink cowgirl boots & a pink hat on Ebay. The girls looked adorable in their cowgirl clothes. I made a boot "cupcake" cake. I was kind of excited about it.

This is the cookie cake that I made 2 of for the girls to take to school.

Crawling

Peyton is officially crawling. She army crawled for about a week or so. Now she can crawl, but randomly she'll still crash face first into the ground. She loves being able to crawl she can go all over the place. So of course we are moving things constantly so she isn't swallowing things that she shouldn't. Picture taking is really hard now. But here's a few of Peyton.

Curls!!

Since I didn't get to curl the girls hair for Halloween, because I was sick, I curled their hair for church one Saturday night. They slept in the sponge rollers and did great. So look at how cute they are.

At the Zoo

The girls and I went to the zoo a couple of days before Halloween. I thought I would brag on myself a little bit since I've had a rough time recently. Of course this weekend I was sick, again. Taylor & I both had the stomach bug during the night Saturday night. So I don't think I have taken any pictures since Halloween. I know that the 6 people who do read my blog are wondering if I will ever post Halloween pics and of course I will, BUT it might be a while. We took Halloween pics with our 35 mm. So that means I will actually have to go to the store and get a disc to put them on the blog. I have made videos of Peyton saying ba, da, ba, ba, ba and of her rocking with much frustration that she can't move her arms. She is now doing a great army crawl. It's kind of funny because she gets so angry that she can't get there quickly that she really is like a soldier grunting while crawling. I have video of Taylor spelling words. I will try to get some of this video on the blog, but for me that is harder to do. I know I'll have to carve out a huge window of time. So on to our zoo trip story.

Most people who know me know that I am pretty cheap. I try very hard to not blow our money, but to still do fun things with the girls. I often hit up the free outings. We have found many fun things that we can do for free here in the DFW area. But I also wanted to take the girls to the zoo again. We haven't been in a year and a half. So the last time we went the girls were still free to get in. So I had a plan!! Our mom's group started talking about going and I suggested we go on Wednesday. That's half price Wed. Some of the mom's weren't so sure b/c they thought it would be way to busy. But we scheduled it for Wed!!! Well I also decided that it was ridiculous to pay 5 dollars to park when there is free parking less than 1/4 of a mile away. So I put the girls in a stroller and Peyton was in the sling. I haven't used a stroller for the girls in forever, but I decided since I was by myself I couldn't carry both of them at the end of the day if they were worn out. It was nice b/c once we were in the zoo the girls walked and looked at the animals and Peyton rode in the stroller. Well we hung out with our friends and had a blast. I only packed a half lunch because I have to admit I LOVE buying food while I'm out. I usually don't, but decided we would splurg for that at the zoo. I took the girls drinks and a snack so they could easily split some shicken. All the other families went home shortly after lunch and the girls and I decided to finish the 2nd half of the zoo. We stayed until the zoo closed at 4. We had a blast and we it wasn't bad. Everyone was dead asleep for the ride home. I was impressed with myself!
