My new job

I am so excited that I got the job that I've been wanting for years. 7 years ago when we had moved to TX the first time I had a hard time finding a teaching position. I decided to sub until I could find one. Well I was offered to do a long term sub position at a 2 day a week preschool. Since I could still sub on MWF at other schools I thought sure it would be fun. I worked there for about 8 weeks, I think. It was so fun. At that point in time I told Dustin that when I became a mommy I would love to do something like that. Well fast forward to now.

When we decided that we would like to start trying to have Peyton. We both agreed that I would not continue to teach full time with a newborn. I enjoyed staying home with the girls for the first year and a half. I wanted to be able to do the same, plus I know these are the last 2 years the girls have at home before they'll be in Kindergarten. Staying home full time is a challenge for me because I don't particularly enjoy being at home. I love to go!!! We get out of the house almost daily. Even if it is just a short trip to the library around the corner. The challenge I have is not spending a ton of money on my little daily adventures.

I knew I wanted to teach at a MDO type place if possible. The only problem is that many of them still charge a portion for the teachers children. Well with us having 3, it wouldn't be very beneficial for me to work and make no money. So I contacted the director for the same preschool I had taught at before. She then told me she only had openings for subs. I thought that might be a good way to jump into working slowly. After turning in my application she called and let me know she did have a teacher opening. My interview was supposed to be the same day I ended up in the ER. So the following Monday my mom drove me to the interview. So I'm excited to tell y'all that I am now a Pre-K teacher and all 3 girls get to go with me for FREE. We start school on Tuesday. I'm excited and the girls are equally excited.

What a perfect job for you!! I'm sure it will be fun for all of you to be out of the house a few days a week. I can't believe you went to the interview so soon after your surgery. You are such a trooper! Congrats!!

This will work out so perfect! I also teach pre-k 2 days a week and take Rylie for free and we both love it! It gets me out of the house, helps us bring in a little more income, and I get to teach and be a full time mom at the same time. It really is a dream job! You will love it. The best part is that for the most part you really do not bring work home with you that takes away from family time. YOu know grading papers, detailed lesson plans etc. I get all of my planning done during rest time and there are no grades to worry about. You just get to do all of the fun stuff with the kids and there is no pressure. You know how we always dreamed teaching would be when we were in school! Congrats! Let me know how it goes!
